Old enough to know better...

... Young enough to not give a f%*#!

There comes a time in your life when you learn to stop worrying about everyone else and put yourself first! You can't save a drowning person if you can't swim yourself. Get it? You probably don't.

The point is, when life throws you an egg don't share it! Scramble that and eat it yourself! Now if life throws you another and your belly is full---

You get it now!

Im not a selfish person in the least bit. Putting aside myself only became an issue when I began to neglect myself and my feelings COMPLETELY on behalf of other people. I practically let people walk all over me. I let the needs of other people come before my own all of the time. I held my tongue when I wanted to shout as loud as I possibly could. I was killing myself trying to please the world.

Please God first then u fall next in line. Not your mother or your sister or anyone else! Take care of YOU first. YOU is all you've got!

Ponder this...

FRIENDS ARE THE FAMILY WE GET TO CHOOSE..

... and I don't know where I would be without mine.

Thank you all for being there for me in your own way.

Thank you for being an ear to listen or a mouth to share a kind word;
A pair of arms to hold me and let me know that "days go by and things get better";
The hand to slap me upside my head when I did something stupid;
The one to make me laugh in ways only you could;
The fist when I'm in trouble and make a chick "wish she would";
A knee to go down in prayer when I'm at my lowest;
My counselor when I need advice

You guys are much more to me than words can ever say and I am utterly greatful and thankful to have each and every one of you in my life.

I love you all

And you thought you were the only one...

lol... picture that!

In most cases, when you meet a man, don't think you're the only skirt he's chasing. I have brothers and a ton a male friends. I've been around enough men in my lifetime to know not to get too close to them too quick.

Sure, I've made the mistake of getting in too deep too soon. I was so focused on him and he was so focused on them. That was my fault. Lesson learned.

I've discovered that it takes a lot for most men to commit to one woman. Normally, they're just looking for someone to have a good time with and if you drop your panties... even better!

Men need to connect with women on a deeper level. You can't convince a man to fall in love with you by doing nice things for him and trying to prove to him that you're "the one" he should be in love with.

A man can spend tons of time with a woman without even thinking about being in a future relationship with her. Unfortunately, women meet men and think "Jackpot! Wedding bells will soon be ah ringin' "

If we learn to take it a little slower and let things flow naturally we can save ourselves a great deal of headache and heartache.

Date around. See what's out there. Don't stop your party because Mr. Handsome with the nice car and six figure salary shows up-- bad example.

If the man you are dating wants to be with you, and only you, he'll let you know it. If not, move on and forget him... unless he has that six figure salary-- get knocked up and take all his cash! (Just playing. Im not really that unethical!)

In Loving Memory of Sadenai Winston...

Hempstead Woman Arrested For MurderBy Melissa Calderon

A simple dispute turned into murder on Nov. 17 when a Hempstead woman was arrested for stabbing and killing another woman she was arguing with, according to Nassau County police.

The suspect, 20 year-old Tanisha Floyd, while in front of her house at 207 Long Beach Rd., was involved in what police describe as an altercation with the victim, Sadenai Winston, at about 12:40 A.M. During the quarrel, Floyd reportedly took out a knife and stabbed 19 year-old Winston. Police then arrived at the scene and arrested Floyd while Winston was rushed to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Center, where she was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m.

Floyd was arraigned yesterday under a charge of second-degree murder. She is being held on $150,000 bond or $75,000 cash bail.

Its obvious that people don't hold life in high regard anymore. Did she think that she could rewind time and bring her back to life after violently releasing her frustrations? I bet Ms. Floyd has a ton to think about now. Two children now face growing up without mothers. And over what we have to ask. A boy? Was she jealous? I don't know. Whatever it was, the ending result was the death of my friend.

My friend Sha was such a good person. For as long as I've known her, I've never heard anything about her being involved in any altercations with anyone. The only thing she was worried about was getting "fresh."

She was pretty, smart, caring, and always smiling. I know this sounds like a hallmark card but that was the kind of person she really was. It's a damn shame that something so petty had to end the way it did.

Think before you react. In any situation. You never know how your actions could affect your life and lives of others forever.

R.I.P baby girl. You are missed and loved by many.

R.I.P SADENAI

STABBING VICTIM IDENTIFIED
Laura Rivera
November 19, 2007

Police released the identity of a woman who was stabbed to death in Hempstead during the weekend. Sadenai* Winston, 19, of Hempstead, had been fighting Saturday with Tanisha Floyd in front of Floyd's home at 207 Long Beach Rd., police said. Around 12:40 a.m., police said, Floyd, 20, stabbed Winston with a knife. Winston was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, where she was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m., police said. Floyd was arraigned on one charge of second-degree murder yesterday at First District Court in Hempstead and ordered held on $150,000 bond or $75,000 cash bail.

MY FRIEND SHA SHA,

You were never the fighting type! What happened!?! It's a shame your life was the price you had to pay for your actions.

You knew you were my girl! Since elementary school. Back in the day we used to sit on the porch and talk about a bunch of nothing! lol.

It hurts my heart to have to say good bye to you. Not this way!

You'll truly be missed.

My condolences to the family and your son.

But Im prettier than she is...

... well dammit it aint always about that!

Apparently he sees alot more in her than he sees in you and unfortunately (for you) beauty is in the eye of the BEHOLDER and you aint the one being "beheld."

Do yourself a favor ladies and stop chasing the men who don't want you. Why even subject yourself to that?

All that does is tear down your self esteem and have you at home (alone) wondering if there is something wrong with you when you are perfectly fine. There is probablly some fine brother checking you out that you can't even notice because you're stuck on "Mr. I got somebody else on my mind and it aint you."

--- class dismissed

---- wait wait come back. I need to deliver the WORD right quick.
The bible says that a MAN that finds a WOMAN finds a good thing. Quit looking! What God has for you will come to you. If not, then thats how it was predestined... you will find your happiness in HE.

--- class dismissed (again) lol

The road to hell is paved with good intentions

... You may be well on your way to a burning fire.

In the case of religion (Christianity), our intentions are futile. The only way to heaven is through your good actions and not so much the intent.

To add to this proverbial axiom, sometimes our good intetions can cause us to end up in "hellish" situations.

Im reminded of how many times we end up in knee deep trouble due to good intentions.

"I thought he was beating on her so I said something. I didn't mean for him to get hurt." (This is merely an example)

We tend to force our opinions and ideas on others because of what we think is best.

When I think of the war, this quote comes to mind. I may not know the greatest deal about the war that we are currently still fighting but from what I do know, it all seems pretty irrational to me.

President Bush may have "meant well" (alot of you may disagree) however, the fact still remains that thousands upon thousands of men and women have been sent off into foreign lands to meet their demise--- good intentions or not.

Another example, Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. A good intention gone wrong. She was only looking out for the environment. How was she to know that her anti- DDT campaign would eventually be the cause of several deaths. How could she have possibly known that DDT actually eliminated the mass killer disease, malaria. (I guess someone forgot to do their research)

Save your good intentions for the people who seek them. If he's not hungry, don't feed him. If its not broken, don't try to fix it.

COMMON @ ST. JOHNS UNIVERSITY

What a great one man show!! He was on point and entertaining. I love him as an artist in general so it was only right that I showed up. It was however, sad to see that the crowd turn out wasn't so great. Either way, he performed as if the entire gym was packed! Sign of a great performer. And he's a wonderful lyricist! If you don't have the latest Common album "Finding Forever" go get it!

BEYONCE... CRANK DAT

Wow... you know you've come up with the best dance in the world when Beyonce considers it necessary to do it on stage.

Im a little worried about her choice in clothing sometimes :/

Ashanti... *yawwwwnnn*

Ashanti sang "God bless America" at the 2007 MLB World Series. From what I've heard, people have said this is Ashanti probably at her best.

If this is the best Ashanti can do... I shall NOT be purchasing "The Declaration" (which is due in Feb. 2008). I mean, it wasnt TERRIBLE but It wasn't great either. Why should she be paid any kind of money to be mediocre? Mediocracy is for the high school play or kareoke night.
